I Stole Dagrin's Style? - Olamide Wrote Heartfelt Message To Fans

Many still found it difficult to forget his short lived music career six years after his death, Dagrin indeed redefined Yoruba indigenous rap game and introduced the modernization we have today to it.

Rave of the moment, Olamide took it a step higher making us not miss late Dagrin so much with what looked like a similar rendition making pundits believed he stole Dagrin's style.

Years after the unfair criticism, the YBNL boss has decided to write a letter to the fans addressing the issue that have dragged on for long.

“Everything the industry denied me of when I started are coming my way now,” The hits maker wrote on Instagram“The vultures in the industry tried to kill my shine, saying I stole Grin style. We all love Grin but that was a tough one to overcome, trust me.”

Nigerian Twitter community had held polls and conversations about the similarities between Olamide’s kind of music and the late Dagrin’s. And in one of his interview last year, the YBNL boss, who has made headlines for releasing back to back hit tracks and album said the trials paved way for his success.

Now, he has written a very long note to his fans, noting that he isn’t swayed by awards or money; he loves music.

“I’m at peace with myself. I am happy, living my dreams, bringing my brothers up, repping my hood, my heritage, my culture,” he writes today, adding, “I am magic.”
