Matuidi Speaks On Proposed Juventus Move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Blaise Matuidi, has "no regrets" after seeing a move to Juventus fall through.

Matuidi, 29, was linked with a summer switch to Juve but ultimately remained in the French capital after the Ligue 1 champions refused to sell one of their longest-serving players.

Matuidi's agent Mino Raiola claimed his client was "very disappointed" by PSG's stance, but the France international said earlier this month he is "not unhappy" to have stayed in Paris and has now stated he is pleased with how things have worked out.

I am very happy and I think that this is clear on the pitch, Matuidi told Le Parisien.

I am enjoying myself and I have no regrets today. This [transfer story] now belongs to the past -- it is behind me. I am focused and fully with PSG.

One of the main reasons why Matuidi was reported to be keen to leave PSG was the lack of guarantees of playing time from new coach Unai Emery.

However, since the transfer window closed last month, the midfielder has featured regularly under the Spaniard.

I have a coach who takes a different approach and shows me different things, things I had perhaps forgotten, Matuidi said.

I have played further forward and out wide. This happened against Arsenal and it was a great match.

[Emery] wants me to be capable of playing in two different roles but he knows that my preferred role is in a central midfield two or three.
