We Are Not Selling National Assets Yet - FGNigeria's Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma has said that the government is not planning to sell any of the national assets yet.
Udoma also advised critics of the proposed sale to hold their fire until a final decision is made, Daily Trust reports.
The minister reportedly made the comment on Tuesday, September 27, while speaking at the 57th Annual Conference of the Nigerian Economic Society in Abuja.
According to Udoma, the planned sale is just a proposal within the stimulus package of the federal government which is yet to be finalized or even agreed upon.
Udoma had earlier said, via a statement released by his Media Adviser, James Akpandem on Saturday, September 24, that the government was not planning to sell off all Nigeria’s assets.
In a related development, the Nigerian Senate has rejected the proposed sale of assets.
