Europa League: Pogba Shines In Man United's Emphatic Win As Inter Beat Southampton [REPORTS]

Record signing, Paul Pogba had a night to remember as he scored twice in Manchester United's  4-1 bashing of Turkish side, Fenerbahce in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Pogba, who has come under fire for some below-par performances for the Red Devils, scored twice in the first half to ease the pressure on Jose Mourinho’s men.

Further strikes from Anthony Martial, from the spot shortly after Pogba’s opening penalty and a sweet Jesse Lingard strike completed the rout shortly after the break.

Robin van Persie pulled one back against his old club late on to great applause, but it didn’t affect United’s victory in Group A as they move level at the top with Feyenoord, who beat Zorhya Luhansk 1-0 with Nicolai Jorgensen netting the only goal.

There was relief for under-pressure Frank de Boer as his floundering Inter side held on with 10 men to beat Southampton 1-0 in at San Siro.

Antonio Candreva got the only goal of the game midway through the second half for the Serie A club, connecting with a Davide Santon ball to finish emphatically past Fraser Forster.

The result sees Saints remain on four points in Group K, two points behind Sparta Prague, who beat Hapoel Beer-Sheva 1-0 in Israel.

There was disappointment at the Stadio Olympico as Roma were held to a 3-3 draw by Austria Vienna on the night Francesco Totti made his 100th European appearance.

Stephan El Shaarawy’s brace swung the game around for Roma after Raphael Holzhauser had given the visitors the lead early on.

Alessandro Florenzi then made it 3-1 midway through the second half, but goals in the last eight minutes from Dominik Prokop and Nigerian Olarenwaju Kayode left the Italians stunned.

Alexandre Pato and Alfred N’Diaye were on target as Villarreal battled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Osmanlispor in Turkey
