October 10: World Mental Health Day
Many in the world, especially in Africa relate mental health to complete madness, but that is not true, as mental health extends to such things as depression, anxiety, personality habits, changes in mood and so on.
Today (World Mental Health Day, WMHD) therefore is a day to look inwards and see which mental health attention we might need, as it is very important to always be mentally healthy.
The 2016 WMHD campaign aims to achieve these goals by encouraging people to take personal ownership of their own mental health and wellbeing.
To do this, the campaign focusses on a simple, personal mental health promise that can be made by anyone, regardless of their own mental health.
Meanwhile, you don’t have to have a mental illness to take part, you just need to have an interest in your own good health, which is important to everyone.
