700,000 People Applied For 500 FIRS Seats - Chairman
The Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Tunde Fowler, has disclosed that over 700,000 people applied for only 500 vacancies.
FIRS had put out a notice of vacancy for 500 jobs in the organisation and now the applicants have far exceeded what FIRS might have expected.
Fowler, having disclosed the number added that more than 2,000 had first class degrees in various disciplines and were qualified to be employed.
However, he said only 500 applicants would be employed. This is in response to applicants who said they have been excluded from proceeding to the next stage of the exercise.
