About Five People Killed In Ilorin Fatal Cultists Clash
A clash between rival cultists in Kwara state has reportedly led to the death of about five people in Ilorin after repeated attacks.
The bloody rampage which started off on Monday night continued through to Tuesday and even yesterday, spreading from the Gaa-Akanbi area to the Ipata Market and Kankatu with a suspected cultist murdered on Monday while two other persons met their death on Tuesday.
According to Vanguard, the Tuesday incident which occurred between 4p.m. and 9p.m was a reprisal attack to the events of Monday, and the murder of an 18-year-old boy whose corpse was dumped under the Amule bridge was a resultant fatality. A man in his 30s was also hacked to death yesterday at around 11a.m by the suspected hoodlums while preparing to go to work.
Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the fatal attacks that occurred on Monday in the Gaa-Akanbi metropolis stating that he was yet to be informed about the other attacks.
“I can only confirm to you that the Gaa-Akanbi incident was as a result of rival cult clashes,” he stated.
The corpse of the 18-year-old boy who was murdered has been removed from under the Amule bridge and deposited at a morgue.
