FG Approves Eight New Universities (See List)

Hopefully, they would be tuition fee friendly...  

The Federal Government, on Wednesday has accredited eight new private universities.

The approval took place at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, presided by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The decision was announced by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Anthony Anwuka at the end of the FEC meeting.

The universities are:
  1. Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos
  2. Arthur Jarvis Akpabuyo University, Calabar, Cross River
  3. Clifford University, Owerinta, Abia
  4. Coal City University, Enugu
  5. Crown Hill University, Kwara
  6. Dominican University, Ibadan, Oyo
  7. Kola Daisy University, Ibadan, Oyo
  8. Legacy University, Okija, Anambra
Onwuka said the new institutions were given three years provisional license and are to be mentored by already established universities.

Therefore, Anchor University will be mentored by the University of Lagos, Jarvis University by the University of Calabar and Clifford University by the University of Agriculture, Umudike.

Coal city University will be mentored by the University of Nigeria Nsukka; Crown Hill University by the University of Ilorin

Kola Daisy and Dominican universities, will be mentored by the University of Ibadan.

Legacy University, Okija, will be mentored by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
