Lagosians Troop Out To Buy Made In Nigeria Rice
It was previously reported that the Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Kebbi State Government co-launched made in Nigeria rice called Lake Rice, and the Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, said the rice would be sold for a cheap price starting Wednesday, 21 December.
In response, Lagos residents have been trooping out to purchase the rice which was promised to be sold at N12,000.
The governors of the two states, Akinwunmi Ambode and Atiku Bagudu, had launched the rice on Wednesday with the aim of ensuring food security as well as show Nigeria’s ability as a producing nation.
According to the Lagos State government, the rice would be sold at N12,000, N6,000, and N2,500 for 50 kilogramme, 25kg, and 10kg bags respectively.
However, Premium Times reports that there were complains at the Lagos State government insisted on 'one bag, one man' system and the payment system (paying in banks) did not go down well.
