Lions Can't Intimidate Eagles - Nigerian Coach Boasts Ahead Of Cameroon Tie

Ahead of next year’s 2018 World Cup qualification two legged clash between Nigeria and Cameroon, Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has said that his players will be adequately prepared for the raw physicality of the Indomitable Lions.

The Eagles, who currently top Group B on six points, will look to seal qualification when they take on their fierce rivals, and Rohr believes his revamped team will be equal to the challenge when both sides lock horns, SportsVanguard writes.

“We know what to expect from Cameroon, they are very physical. That is how they love to play, we have to be ready to match them in that regard. But been physical won’t be enough, we also have to be technical in our approach,” the German tactician said.

“We have the players to carry out the task of getting a positive result against Cameroon, all we have to do is to stick to our game plan, when the game comes up and not play into their hands.”

Rohr, who has enjoyed a 100 per cent record since his appointment in July, once again assured that his players are determined to qualify for the World Cup, adding that they are easy to manage.

“I find them very dedicated and committed to our cause of qualifying for the World Cup in Russia.

“We have had isolated cases of players crossing the line while in camp, but it is expected with adults, and how you handle that matters a lot. Mikel has also been helpful in that regard”.

The Eagles manager is set to be in Gabon this January to witness the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations where some of Nigeria’s World Cup foes will be in action.
