1 Dead, 5 Injured In Fresh Kaduna Gunmen Attack 

The massacre of ordinary Nigerians in Kaduna State, north-west Nigeria continued on Sunday, January 22, following confirmation by the police that unknown gunmen wreaked havoc in Zankan village, a Fulani settlement in Kaura Local Government of the state.

Making the announcement Sunday, Spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Aliyu Usman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident occurred at about 8.30 p.m. the day before

According to ASP Usman, one person was killed and five others injured in the latest in a series of attacks in the state.

“The dead and the injured persons have been taken to the nearest medical centre in Ganawuri town, Plateau State,” Usman said, before adding that a full scale investigation has commenced into the incident.

“We are trailing the suspects behind the attack, but so far, no arrest has been made.

“We are, however, optimistic that the additional police operatives deployed in the area will fish out the culprits very soon,” he said.

Usman, who reiterated the commitment of the command to secure lives and property in the state, appealed to the public to always assist security agencies with useful information to enable them nip such attacks in the bud.
