Breaking: Boko Haram Strikes At Crowded Maiduguri University's Central Mosque 

A bomb explosion believed to have been carried out by members of the deadly Boko Haram sect went off  today, Monday January 16 morning inside a crowded mosque at the University of Maiduguri with several people feared killed or injured, Sahara Reporters reports.

According to the news website, eyewitnesses said the explosion occurred around 6:30 am when some students and staff of the university of Maiduguri were observing morning prayer. Security forces have been mobilized to the scene of the attack. Sources say several persons have been killed, but there is no official confirmation of casualty figures.

Boko Haram has carried out a terror campaign in the country’s North East for over 7 years killing thousands of people. Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, was where the sect started its attacks.
