Confusion For Lagos Residents As Gunmen Abduct Landlord And Teenage Boy

The residents of Fagbile Estate in White Sand, Ijegun, Lagos State, have cried out for help after two people abducted by armed men were killed.

According to Punch, this tragedy occurred just 48 hours after the Chairman of the Harmony Community Development Association, Mallam Ibrahim Omatar, and a Togolese, identified simply as Job, were killed.

The report further adds that a third victim Uloma Igwe was kidnapped last Tuesday. And on Thursday, the unknown masked men returned again.

Speaking with newsmen, here’s what a resident said happened on Thursday:

“The gunmen came on Thursday night. They killed one man and abducted two people. They were initially three, but we learnt that the third person refused to follow them. That was why they shot him dead. The incident happened on Itu Street.”

Another source identified the recent victims as a landlord, and a 15-year-old boy.

“This matter has become very critical. We are getting tired of living in fear. We suspect these gunmen are Ijaw youths and they have continued to unleash terror on us. This cannot continue,” said a landlord who spoke under anonymity.

The 18-year-old Igwe abducted last Tuesday is yet to be released because her family is yet unable to produce the N1m ransom her captors have demanded.

“We are tired. My daddy has been running around to get the money. We need help before it is too late,” Igwe’s relative said.
