MSN Scored As FC Barcelona Wallops Eibar In La Liga [REPORT]

Argentine superstar, Lionel Messi inspired Barcelona to a 4-0 win at Eibar Sunday night, to ensure the defending champions stayed on the heels of leaders, Real Madrid although victory came at a price as key midfielder Sergio Busquets suffered an injury.

Busquets, who is the anchor in Barca’s midfield, had to make way for Denis Suarez after straining ankle ligaments, and the substitute fired the visitors into the lead from the edge of the area in the 31st minute for his first Barca goal.

Messi doubled Barca’s advantage by finishing off a brilliant move with strike partner Luis Suarez in the 50th minute, and the Uruguayan joined his captain and friend on 15 league goals by dispossessing an Eibar defender before finishing inside the near post with a third of the game played.

Neymar completed the rout by netting deep into stoppage time, his first goal for Barca from open play since October.

Luis Enrique’s side, who made the trip to the Ipurua without injured captain Andres Iniesta and the suspended Javier Mascherano, remain third on 41 points, two behind Real, who beat Malaga 2-1 on Saturday and have a game in hand.

Sevilla, fresh off crashing Real’s party last week, maintain their second spot after another gripping comeback display to win 4-3 at Osasuna earlier on Sunday.

Late goals from Franco Vazquez and Pablo Sarabia secured the points for Jorge Sampaoli’s men after their captain Vicente Iborra had scored for both sides in a pulsating encounter.

Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, lost more ground in the title race as they needed a brilliant late strike from Antoine Griezmann to secure a 2-2 draw at Athletic Bilbao.
