New Nokia Android Smartphone Unveiled

The phone giants, Nokia, announced in December that it would be storming the smartphone market in 2017 with a new Android handset.

Nokia has confirmed the release of Nokia 6, but it's only available in China.

HMD Global, a Finnish company that was founded to develop phones under the Nokia brand name, noted in a press release that the phone will only be available in China through retailed JD.com, and that it will be available “in early 2017.”

However, the release did note that the Nokia 6 was the first step for the company, and that there would be more to come this year.

Features of the Nokia 6 are:

2.5D Gorilla Glass screen, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem. The phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and runs an Android Nougat operating system. The phone will also feature a 16MP rear camera and a 8MP front facing camera.

It is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. The home button in Nokia 6 doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. Nokia 6 is a 4G-enabled smartphone that supports Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and USB-OTG.

The phone will retail for ¥1699 (around $250 USD, N76,000).
