Sen. Akpabio Is The Sponsor Of 2Baba's Proposed Protest Against Buhari's Government?

According to a  new report, accusing finger has been pointed at Senator Godswill Akpabio as the personality sponsoring the mach against the Buhari administration which is being championed by singer 2Baba Idibia.

This accusation was made by PM News, which claims it carried out investigations before concluding that a former south-south governor, who is now a senator, is the major sponsor of the demonstration.

Though the media house refused to call the governor by his name, they noted that this politician gifted the singer cars on his wedding day, an a quick check reveals Akpabio as the then-sitting governor of Akwa Ibom State as the one who gifted the singer cars on his wedding day.

Here’s what PM News said:

“Investigations on Monday revealed a former Akwa Ibom State Governor as the chief sponsor of the planned massive nationwide protest being orchestrated by hip hop artiste, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration…

But on Monday, a source revealed that 2face was being used as a stooge to drive the protest aimed at smearing the Buhari-led Federal Government. This said former governor, now a Senator, has never hidden his love for the ‘African Queen’ crooner and had in the past said to have showered award winning musician with cash and gifts worth several millions of naira.

It would be recalled that 2face and his wife, Annie Macaulay, in 2013, were gifted two brand new Prado SUVs by this former governor as their wedding gift which they graciously accepted.“

But, is the above enough reasons to claim the politician is the mind behind the upcoming march?

Recall that the news of the march set for February 5 went viral after the legendary singer shared the circular on his Instagram page days ago. “We say No to the Executive, No to legislatures, No to judiciary… You have all failed us. We the people are tired. We can no longer continue with all of you,” said the circular.

The news spread fast. Celebrities stood in solidarity, but 2Baba  later clarified that he was only amplifying the voice of the concerned group which blames the present administration for the present stifling economic conditions.

It is unclear why PM News has chosen to make accusations (without revealing how they reached the conclusions), but we wait for 2baba Idibia to address this story as he promised to discuss something important on his social media handles by 3pm today.
